Why I made Blanki
I love my dogs and I love a calm, beautiful home. I created Blanki because I was tired of hiding ugly beds, fighting smells and dragging different cushions from room to room.
I wanted one simple mat that lets my dogs relax close to me in any room or new place – and still looks like it belongs in my home. Now I share it with other dog parents who want a cosy spot for their dog and a home they’re proud of.

Will the mat smell like wool or “wet dog”?
Fresh merino wool has a very light, natural scent at the beginning, which usually fades as you air and use the mat. With normal use, smell mostly comes from oils and moisture, not from the wool itself. If you regularly vacuum and air the mat (and wash), it is designed to stay much fresher than a bulky foam bed.
How do I clean it?
For everyday care, simply shake the mat out and vacuum the surface to remove hair and dust. For a deeper refresh, air it outside or near an open window – natural wool freshens up best with air, not constant washing. When you truly need to wash it, use a gentle wool cycle at max 30°C with a wool‑safe detergent, low spin, and then let the mat air‑dry flat away from direct heat.
Is it suitable for allergy‑prone dogs?
Many sensitive dogs do well on simple, breathable natural surfaces because they trap less dust and moisture than deep synthetic fluff. However, if your dog or anyone in your home has a known wool allergy, or your vet has mentioned strong contact allergies, it’s important to test slowly or choose another option. If you’re unsure, start with short supervised use and check the skin where it touches the mat.
Which size should I choose?
Blanki currently comes in one carefully chosen size that works for most medium and large dogs, and fits well in common spaces like sofas, next to the bed, on rugs or on a terrace. Smaller dogs simply have more room to stretch out, while bigger dogs can still enjoy it as their favourite ‘spot’ to rest, even if their paws or tail occasionally go beyond the edge.
Can I use it in the crate / car?
Yes – the mat is designed to be portable and versatile. You can place it in a crate, on the floor at home, on the sofa, on the terrace or in the car boot so your dog always has the same familiar spot. Just make sure it lies flat and doesn’t slide; if your surface is very smooth, you can add a non‑slip layer or rug pad underneath for extra grip.
